Pieces made to last and improve with age. Using the highest quality italian cashmere to ensure that if well taken care of, your cashmere pieces will last forever. We recommend dry cleaning or hand-washing carefully using the following instructions.
AIRING
Cashmere doesn’t need to be washed every time you wear it — a few times per season will do. Instead, air out your cashmere between wears. It’s better for clothes and the environment.
STAINS
Small stains can often be removed using a cloth and some cold water.
WASHING
Gently wash using cold or cool lukewarm water, and a knitwear detergent. Try not to rub, agitate or twist the fabric while washing. Turn your knit inside out and submerge in the water and make sure to not mix any colors together. Rinse with fresh water – again being careful not to wring the garment when squeezing out excess water.
DRYING
To dry your garment, use a clean towel to gently ‘hug’ out excess water, then dry by laying flat at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. While still damp, reshape your piece if needed.
IRONING
To smooth out any creases, gently use the steam component of your iron. Avoid laying an iron directly on your cashmere.
AVOIDING MOTHS
Moths are a fact of life but there are precautions you can take to avoid them. Before storing away, make sure your cashmere is clean. We suggest placing each piece into individual paper bags before packing away during warmer months.
PILLING
Pilling is not symptomatic of inferior quality, but rather an inevitable consequence of cashmere’s fine fibers. Pilling is a natural part of cashmere’s life cycle caused by the friction of these fibers rubbing together. Pills can be easily removed with your fingers, fabric shaver or a good cashmere comb.
To limit pilling, avoid any rubbing motions with handbags and purses and try to keep your cashmere away from jewelery that could cause snagging. The cashmere will pill less and less as time goes on. These cashmere knits get better with age!
